Official: George Galloway Still Deluding Self

Despite our innate cynicism and overwhelming hatred of the human race in general, we’re a polite mild-mannered bunch here at hecklerspray HQ. We only have to step on someone’s foot before we’re apologising profusely and offering to cut our own tongues out to reclaim our honour.

Not something that could be said about George Galloway.

After acting like a giant cat, dancing about in a leotard pretending to be summoning a puppy, dressing up as a vampire, impersonating Elvis and becoming eerily close with fellow contestant Pete Burns, George - an elected MP - is still refusing to admit that abandoning his constituents and running away to the Celebrity Big Brother house for three weeks might have been a little bit of a mistake.

Venting his considerable spleen on Channel Four, George Galloway insisted that the press had got everything:

"Out of proportion … There are so many things happening in the world and they seem to have been devoting acres of newsprint to a reality TV show. The way they have been going at me would suggest that they think they
have something to fear from me and the Respect Party - and some of the
sanctimonious humbug I have seen in the press … The British parliament is full of people who jet around the
world on fact-finding junkets to exotic places every day of the week
and they are never hauled over the coals."

Pity that no-one has yet bothered to raise the most obvious question: why exactly did George devote so much of his powerful intellect to tearing apart chav-icon Chantelle - a girl so stupid she could fall over with her hands in her pockets and break her nose - when he has previously used it to describe dictator Saddam Hussein - a man who enjoyed feeding his enemies feet-first through an industrial plastic shredder - as having a great deal of ‘courage’?

Or are we missing the ‘proportions’ there too, Georgie-boy?
