We've always had a deep distrust of Heathrow Airport – they carpet the walls, for Christ's sake – but we're just common or garden bloggers. Now, if we were rappers, we'd really distrust that goddamn airport.
It's only been days since Snoop Dogg was arrested at Heathrow Airport for reportedly throwing a strop and then smashing up a load of booze – and now another rapper has been collared. This time the target of the police's attention was our old friend DMX, who was arrested because he really, really hates seatbelts.
A couple of weeks ago, Snoop Dogg was arrested – and subsequently cautioned – after a simple refused entry into the British Airways First Class lounge at Heathrow turned into a giant rumpus ending up with seven injured policeman. And, just to prove they mean business, police officers at Heathrow arrested their second rapper in two weeks – this time it was DMX.
DMX – a man whose full name is Dark Man X, The Divine Master Of The Unknown, and who was once arrested for crashing his car in a car park and then telling everyone that it was OK because he was really in the FBI – was collared over the weekend after reportedly not cooperating with cabin staff on an American Airlines flight into London. Dotmusic reports:
"DMX is understood to have refused to do up his seat belt as the plane came into land at Heathrow, before then launching into an abusive tirade at cabin crew. The captain of the flight from JFK airport alerted police on the ground and DMX – real name Earl Simmons – was arrested and then later cautioned."
DMX was in town to play a concert tonight that will launch his sixth album, Year Of The Dog, Again. It's expected that the secret gig will go ahead as planned.
So it looks as if Heathrow Airport really has it in for gangsta rappers of all shapes. If we were Daz Sampson, we'd think about sneaking back from expected Eurovision failure at the weekend via bitchin' London Stanstead.
