Norah Jones And Wong Kar-Wai Go To Hollywood

There are several things that Norah Jones can do blindfolded, like winning music awards and making music so dull that it actually sends people to sleep, but acting hasn’t really been among her talents.
All that looks set to change, however, as Norah Jones has revealed that she has signed up to star in the first English-language film by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai, entitled My Blueberry Nights. Details on the plot are scant at the moment, but it is thought that My Blueberry Nights will include scenes of both blueberries and the nighttime.
Norah Jones (CDs) may be more well known for her famous Dad and her groggy
Michael Parkinson-friendly jazzpop than her acting ability, but she
appears to be keen to be in all kinds of films, too. She’s reportedly
to star in a My Blueberry Nights, the first English-language film by
2046 and In The Mood For Love director Wong Kar-wai.
You want more details? Tough luck – it seems as if every party
involved in My Blueberry Nights want to keep their cards close to their
chests. My Blueberry Nights might be about Hurricane Katrina. But then
again, it might not. My Blueberry Nights might have a script. But it
probably hasn’t. Norah Jones might turn out to be a effervescent
cinematic talent. But she probably won’t be.
Wong Kar-wai is also set to direct Nicole Kidman in Lady From
Shanghai next year. There are even fewer details on this movie but -
judging by Kidman’s recent form – it’s probably some kind of remake of
a rubbish comedy about a funny witch or something.
