New Rubbish Oasis Song Leaked

Oasis are reportedly furious that their new single has been leaked online.

If they had functioning ears, they’d have been more angry about releasing such a lot of tripe.

Monkeymusical
Everyone’s very upset because a Polish radio station played the song Lyla before
the official premiere – on Radio 1 on Monday – and because people put
the song on the internet and now other people can hear it and
everything’s spoiled and Liam‘s holding his breath until he turns blue because it’s not fair.

When will these people learn? People shared the file because they were excited to hear new music from the monobrowed band. They actually wanted to hear it. God knows why.

But Oasis have never got pre-album hype quite right. Take, for example, the Be Here Now campaign of 1997.

The band were so uptight about letting people hear it that they made
reviewers sign contracts promising that nobody else could hear the
music, and that they couldn’t even discuss it with anyone, not even
loved ones.

And when they gave Radio 1 a promo CD of four songs, they did so on
the instruction that the station had to play jingles throughout them.
When Radio 1 refused, Oasis took the CD back.

But back to Lyla. Hecklerspray got hold of a copy – don’t worry, we deleted it right away – and we can report that when Noel Gallagher told NME.com it sounded like "The Sountrack Of Our Lives doing The Who on Skol in a psychedelic city in the sky", he was almost right.

It does sound like The Soundtrack To Our Lives, but an album track from Behind The Music that gets skipped a lot. And if you switch The Who for The Counterfeit Stones doing Streetfighting Man, you’re closer. Although, actually we really can’t remember exactly how it goes. That’s not a good sign is it?

Despite what we think, when Noel was talking about the new album, he claimed he was "More proud of this one than of any album since Definitely Maybe". Then again, he’s said that about Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. And that was dreadful.

The album, Don’t Belive The Truth is out on May 30. Make up your own minds.

Liam’s voice is great on lyla. It’s a good song by oasis, nothing more/less. Can’t wait to hear the album. I’m really excited.

Listening to anything by Oasis is like listening to the screams of 1,000 women while they are all having backally abortions performed on them with rusty wire hangers. It makes me wanna bite a power line and die.
