You'd never have Sting earmarked as one of those 'polluting' types, would you?

Oh no – you'd expect to see him doing something dreadfully planet-saving, like inventing a National Power Grid that runs entirely on his sense of self-satisfaction, or piloting a special leaf-powered helicopter that he can use to drop parcels of organic chickpeas into starving villages.

Sting is a nice man. Isn't he?

Well … not according to Ecologists In Action. They're a green-tinged Spanish pressure group who are getting a teensy-weensy bit upset with the StingLord's latest scheme.

Sting wants to hold a huge open-air concert to raise awareness of 'endangered landscapes' – you know, in much the same way that last year's Live 8 gig completely eradicated world poverty, and wasn't at all a shallow overblown celebrity gushfest, oh no siree.

Bizarrely, however, Sting has decided that the best place to stage this ginormous concert of his is in a lovely little spot called Sierra de Gredos… a protected nature reserve, much like the ones that Sting is doubtless pulling all sorts of concerned Sting faces over.

Yet – apparently – the idea of 'preservation' and the idea of 'ushering in 9000 concert-goers to trample all over the ground, drop countless tons of litter and scare the shit out of any surrounding wildlife' aren't the sort that go hand in hand.

Fields of Gold?

We somehow doubt it.
