Wooooooooosh, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw and hawoooooooooo are the normal sounds that an arrow makes.
When it’s travelling at say 80 or 90 miles per hour, you don’t normally get to appreciate its creative output. Instead, you’ll just hear a small crack as the arrow pierces the skull, followed by the noise of blood draining from the brain.
With a great amount of pride, we are proud to say that The Sound Of Arrows isn’t a project dedicated to such a thing. Instead, this Swedish band take a shed load of complicated synthesizers and knock up sounds that a wandering child would imagine. The Sound Of Arrows would be the perfect accompaniment to any Disney film if the executives stopped being so overly cautious.
So how good are The Sound Of Arrows then? Despite being fairly low on a lot of people’s radar, top notch producer Richard X has spied them up. After a bit of digging, we can’t quite yet determine what the two are collaborating on, but we assume Richard X will be behind the mixing desk as The Sound Of Arrows record a debut album. Having a respected person working with you so early in your career can only indicate encouraging things.
With bucketloads of synth-based electro pop literally forcing its way onto our shores, there is a load of crap alongside the occasional gem. Listening to a track like M.A.G.I.C really reminds us of the Pet Shop Boys as they take on a blissed out tune as the sun sets over beaches up and down the land. The song isn’t one to be simply enjoyed by the masses, even your average musical snob will find themselves admitting they love The Sound Of Arrows.
There isn’t really much to dislike about the band, who have recently moved to London in an attempt to break the UK pop market. And why not? The whole electro and disco genre is making a massive impact and it’s a market that The Sound Of Arrows can easily tap into.
They do it with some creativity as well, compared to some of their peers who have already found chart success. Songs aren’t quickly pasted together whilst using the same drums and BPM in every song. Thankfully, there aren’t any big shouty vocals to drown out against the music. Everything seems to be crafted masterfully together enabling the listener to appreciate the song first time, hopefully all the time.
Sadly there are no tour dates planned at the moment. Though with ever growing popularity we can only imagine that tours will be planned once singles and albums are released. Now go tell everyone how good they are before the wholw world catches on!
