Leaders in their musical field often becoming unchallenged and, usually, it means that other people don’t get a look in.

This sometimes means that young acts struggle to get in whilst old crusty bands plague everyone with their repetitive songs, like The Rolling Stones and – to a strange extent – The Beatles.

In the post rock world, the leaders have been Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky. After discovering Saxon Shore maybe it’s time more people were made aware of these fragile guitar strokes over a bed raging guitars. Think of them as Mogwai on Prozac.
