MySpace Trawl – Richard Cheese

OK, we admit this is the first time we haven’t featured an original artist on this well respected and inspirational page. So what gives?
Has our Amy Winehouse-esque crack cocaine lifestyle finally caught up with us, reducing us to report nothing but rubbish? Don’t be silly. We would never do such a thing. Well, at least not yet anyway.
This week, we’ve decided to give a cover singer some limelight - but, as you’re soon to hear, Richard Cheese is a genius.
Everyone knows that cover bands are generally shit. From McFly covering Queen to rock bands trying to cover ballads. It simply doesn’t work.
Sadly at gigs when covers are brought out, it’s just a filler which enables us to go for a wee or get a yummy warm pint in a plastic glass. But after being introduced to Richard Cheese and his band through a friend, it appears we’ve been wrong about cover singers.
They can be good and can amazingly bring a comedy element to the original song. Just listen and be amazed. We were, and it takes a lot to surprise us.

I’ve been a fan or Richard Cheese for years. Cheers for recognizing his goodness! You haven’t lived until you’ve heard his cover of Bell Biv Devoe’s “Do Me.”
