You may be mistaken to think that Errors is actually a discussion topic for a six-hour Jeremy Kyle show special. Via the use of webcams for guests and a few members of the audience who aren’t quite all there, it very well could be the TV programme of all TV programmes that would cause everyone to simultaneously smash their televisions sets.
Thankfully though, ITV isn’t quite ready to unleash that beast. For the meantime, we’ll just have to do with people who lie about weight loss, repeats of DIY shows and that smug ginger chef who would spit on you if offered a piece of cheese on toast from your own oven. Errors are, in fact, another quality band to come out of Glasgow.
As well as coming for a city that is dripping in culture and fat from deep fried confectionery, Errors have a vague connection to Danananaykroyd. Well that’s what we’ve been told anyway from someone. At one point in time or another, one member was in Errors but shifted over to the equally ace Danananaykroyd.
They’ve supported Underworld on tour and are set to do the same when Mogwai play a few dates in their native Scotland. Obviously, they have plenty of fans – both in the industry and on the live scene – who come and see them at their own shows. So why should you be more excited about them than when a Spice Girl gets her hair chopped off?
They make electronic-sounding noises, but do so with the normal standard set-up of guitars, drums and all of that other regulation indie gear. It isn’t just one guy working away in his back bedroom and getting all frustrated. Instead, it’s actually a real band!
If we said Battles and Holy Fuck, then that’s the sort of avenue that we mean. Sounding like electronic music, but kind of not really is becoming the new sort of cool thing. Well, at least in the underground scene anyway. Normally, we’d bang on about a few songs that stand out, but with tracks on the poor quality MySpace player, and an embedded widget containing even more, we’ll let you make up your own mind.
Because we’re kind like that. Well, so says our postman.
