I saw this picture of Miley Cyrus on the new W Magazine cover and I was shocked. Yes, she’s naked, but bitch is always naked, but other than that she looks really high fashion and really, dare I say it, pretty. Miley is (surprise surprise) topless inside the magazine and flashes some nip, but those extensions and bleached brows are doing home girl a world of wonders.
The interview itself, which was conducted by journalist, ex-government advisor, genius, and all around dreamboat, Ronan Farrow, sheds some light on Miley’s personal life. It’s all pretty cool until she starts comparing herself to punk rock and Joan Jett. Where is Henry Rollins with a rant when you need him?
In the interview, Miley tells Ronan about how she thinks all the other bitches in the game are basically boring ass game show girls while she’s a fashion rebel:
I just don't get what half the girls are wearing. Everyone to me seems like?Vanna White. I'm trying to tell girls, like, ?Fuck that. You don't have to wear makeup. You don't have to have long blonde hair and big titties. That's not what it's about. It's, like, personal style.? I like that I'm associated with sexuality and the kind of punk-rock shit where we just don't care. Like?Madonna?or?Blondie?or?Joan Jett?? Jett?s the one that I still get a little shaky around. She did what I did in such a crazier way.
Miley, you may be associated with sexuality, I won’t take that from you, but saying you’re associated with punk rock is straight up ridiculous.
However, in her defense, she probably thinks early Avril Lavigne is punk rock and yes, I would totally make that comparison.
This isn’t the first time Miley has made a nonsensical punk claim. In an interview with Cosmopolitan last year, she said liking her was very “punk rock”, a statement which made zero fucking sense to me. It’d be different if the world was just dissing her and calling her weird and not embracing her so much, but her album has been very successful, she gets tons of magazine covers, just did an MTV special, it doesn’t seem all that punk rock to like Miley at all. In fact, it seems pretty mainstream.
Even though I dig Miley and I think she actually looks really nice in these pictures and the interview itself is pretty good, her frequent punk rock statements about herself give me a major case of the “what the fucks”.
