There comes a point in every child’s life when their parents stop being Mum and Dad and start to be seen in the context of the wider world. Imagine, then, the day you realise your Dad is Michael Jackson.
At the moment, Michael Jackson looks after his children, Paris and Michael Jnr by himself. However, Debbie Rowe – the mother of the children – is seeking custody of the kids, and has come a step closer after a judge refused to reinstate Jackson’s sole custody order.
What was the court thinking? We’ve seen Michael Jackson turn into both a car and a jaguar in separate music videos – plus he can throw his hat with alarming force, as showcased in the Moonwalker computer game. The judge had better watch his back.
Debbie Rowe was married to Michael Jackson (CDs) between 1997 and 1999.
During that time, she pushed both Paris and Michael Jnr out of her
body, but agreed never to contact the children after the couple
divorced in 2000. A year later, Debbie gave up all of her parental
rights. Of course, that was back when Michael Jackson was just a
run-of-the-mill washed up deluded popstar, and not the constantly
legally-entangled baby-dangling loon with accusations of child
molestation that he is today.
Since 2004, Rowe – a Jew – has been on a mission to get her children back from Michael Jackson, claiming that – amongst other things:
"press reports Michael had associated with the Nation of Islam, whose members Deborah believed do ‘not like Jews.’ "
And yesterday Debbie Rowe – who claims that Jackson isn’t even the father of the children – took a step closer to getting custody of the children, after a California appeals court ruled that Rowe’s parental rights were improperly terminated and refused to give Jackson sole custody of his children, leaving the door wide open for a full-scale custody battle between Debbie Rowe and Michael Jackson.
It’s bittersweet news – the emotional agony of choosing a better parent between a woman who freely turned her back on her own babies and a cross-dresser who gets accused of making giraffes stand in pools of their own blood is only softened by the thought of more dove-releasing nutjobs standing outside the courtroom come verdict day.
