It must be a thankless task working for Michael Jackson: a never-ending slog of finding the right sized burka for him to shop in and maintaining correct levels of giraffe blood. And he doesn’t even pay you.
30 workers in Michael Jackson’s Neverland ranch in California have been working for 10 weeks without pay. And if they don’t get paid today, there’ll be hell to pay. And no amount of unsold Moonwalker games for the Sega Master System will compensate for actual cash this time.
Ever since Michael Jackson (CDs) was found innocent of molesting children
and legged it to Bahrain to dress up as a woman and sneak around
shopping centres, he’s been somewhat neglecting his old home, the
Neverland ranch in California.
Times used to be happy and full of joy at Neverland – Michael could do as he pleased. One day he could walk around
and feel at one with all the animals, another day he could load up on Jesus Juice
and stare at the creepy picture in his room of the Last Supper, with
Michael Jackson as Jesus, and Abraham Lincoln and Einstein as his
disciples.
But now Michael Jackson has left Neverland, things seem to be
falling apart. Jackson has already been sued by a vet for $91,602 for
having to look at all the animals, and PETA accused Jackson of – among
other things – letting giraffes stand in pools of blood, a claim which
was later found to be false. And then there are the unpaid Neverland
staff. Michael Jackson was ordered to pay a fine of around $170,000 last week, for not re-applying for employer’s insurance. But that’s not the worst of it.
Also last week, Michael Jackson was given until yesterday to fork out
$306,000 in unpaid wages plus $100,000 in fines for failing to pay 30
Neverland workers for 10 weeks – a deadline which has been extended by 24 hours
while Michael Jackson tries to stump up the money. If Michael can’t pay by
today, he will be sued by the State Of California. Department of
Industrial Relations spokesperson Renee Bacchini told the BBC about the
extension:
"They’re trying to work with us. That’s a normal course
of business. If somebody comes forward with good faith, we would be
reasonable."

Tha' Leader says
Mike just can’t get a break these days. Everybody seems to be after him and it’s a shame considering that just a few short years ago he was everyone’s hero. You know I can’t help but feel that if this was Elvis Presley or Frank Sinatra all these attempts at character assasination by the press wouldn’t be or be as nasty. This just shows that the press is as racist and biased as ever and don’t represent the true sentiments of the people. For the people love Michael Jackson but it’s evident that the press and the people who represent it are trying hard to sway the minds of the people with these negative attacks. And then too it’s equally obvious that the powers that be in California have no love for Michael Jackson. That’s evident when you have the son of a Nazi as governor.
