Now that the prosecution is over in the Michael Jackson (CDs) case, the fun can really start.
Because the best part of all of this isn’t finding out if Michael Jackson molested a cancer patient or not – it’s finding out how many famous people get called as witnesses.
The first half of the case was a bit like watching an old episode of Saved By The Bell (DVDs). Every now and then a special guest star would enter, and the Americans would get all excited, but nobody in Britain knew who they were. So when the prosectution called people like George Lopez, everyone outside the US gave a great big shrug.
But now comes the case for the defence. And Michael Jackson knows loads of famous people. The most interesting of these is Macaulay Culkin (DVDs). Claims were made by the prosecution that Michael Jackson was seen with his hands up Culkin’s shorts, and also that Macaulay slept in Jackson’s bedroom when he visited Neverland.
And today was Macaulay Culkin’s chance to give his side. When asked about Jackson’s charges, he said "I think they’re absolutely ridiculous". He did sleep in Michael’s bed when he was between the ages of 10 and 14, but only unexpectedly when he was tired, and that nothing suspect happened.
The Home Alone star claims he’d "never seen him do anything improper with anybody".
So that’s one megastar out of the way. Who’s next? Liz Taylor? Joe Pesci? Let’s wait and see.

Letter to the Liverpool Echo. United Kingdom.
The prosecution have laid out their case against Michael Jackson. To bring it to court they must have chopped down half of the Amazonian rain forest. As witnesses they brought everybody and his mother and it still isn’t enough. Michael Jackson is an oddity but even in a crazy country like America that is not a crime. There is a real magic in enthusiasm. For Michael Jackson it spelt the difference between mediocrity and accomplishment. Achieving your goals should not make you a target for the unscrupulous, let the witch hunt stop now. John Nelson, 55 Garden Lane, Fazakerley, Liverpool, L99DZ. 0151 523 5141
