Since December 15, workers at the Michael Jackson Neverland ranch haven’t been paid. Since then they’ve presumably been surviving on a diet consisting of leftover Jesus Juice and slurps of giraffe blood.
But today is the Neverland staff’s lucky day. After the State Of California threatened to sue him, Michael Jackson has agreed to stump up the $306,000 that he owes his Neverland workers. But it’s not all good news – now that Michael Jackson is back paying his staff again, it’s assumed that his burka budget will take a direct hit.
This time yesterday, things looked a bit hairy for Michael Jackson (CDs).
California’s Department Of Industrial Relations had ruled that Jackson needed to pay his workers
$306,000 in unpaid wages by Tuesday, a deadline that Michael Jackson
had managed to extend by one day. And now assurances have been made
that Neverland workers will get paid today for the first time since
December. In a statement, Labour Commissioner Robert A. Jones said:
"There is no need to take legal action in this matter at this time as out main concern that all employees receive wages owed to them is being addressed."
So now that all of Michael Jackson’s Neverland staff have been paid, everything’s back to normal, right? Wrong – they aren’t allowed to work at Neverland because Michael Jackson didn’t update his workers compensation. But if nobody is allowed to work in Neverland, who’s looking after Michael’s animals and porn stash?
Don’t worry, the state revealed that the animals in the Neverland zoo are being cared for by an unnamed "local veterinarian," while security duties at Neverland are being taken up by "members of the Jackson family." Though presumably not Jermaine Jackson, who’s probably still in the dog house for allegedly punting that nasty book pitch around.
