Mercury Music Prize Betting Odds: Sway, This Is My DemoOh, admit it – you can't get any work done today because you're so wrapped up with anxiety about which album a tiny panel of smug industry insiders will vote the best of the year.

The Mercury Music Prize is rattling towards us like a train that's unusually pleased with itself, and a winner will be named in the coming days. But wait – you ask – where is the token Mercury Music Prize album by a young black person that none of the panel really liked but thought they'd look cool if they included?  Relax, it's right here.

Here are the Mercury Music Prize betting odds for This Is My Demo by Sway

Sway: This Is My Demo - Ah, Grime. The soundtrack to most scenes of youth crime in The Bill and the nicest thing to listen to while you're being happyslapped for your chips. This Is My Demo by Sway pretty much picks up from where Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal – himself a Mercury Music Prize winner – left up, adding a slightly more sophisticated production to the typical Grime machinegun delivery. However, where Dizzee Rascal sounds uncomfortable when he's not screaming out angry lyrics about teenage pregnancy, This Is My Demo shows just how capable Sway is of switching musical styles without a hint of trouble – album closer Month In The Summer, for instance, isn't just the best love song to come out of the Grime scene, it's one of the best love songs of the year by anyone. Is it good? Without wanting to sound like middle class honky with white man's overbite, yes it it. This Is My Demo by Sway is very good. Will it win? Given that the Mercury Music Prize judges are all middle class honkies with white man's overbite, with a history of favouring black music, then yes. There's every chance that This is my Demo by Sway will win the Mercury Music Prize. Current Mercury Music Prize betting odds – 16/1
