174706_9572And people moan at smart mouth websites like ours for being disrespectful (we hope they do anyway), but it’s people like Mel Gibson who really take the communal wafer. And now he’s planning to make a film about Pope John Paul II’s life. The poor man’s been dead for five minutes!

According to Ireland Online, Gibson has actually shot the movie’s ending. Which presumably means he’s sent a camera crew to Pope’s funeral. Or else he filmed a shaking old man dying in his back garden. And exploding with blood, if his last film was anything to go by.

Good old Gibbo, if it’s controversial and bound to upset people, he’ll jump on it.

He had a dig at the Jews last year with his appalling one-act yawnfest The Passion of the Christ and now the devout Roman Catholic’s got the Vatican in his crosshairs. Seems like a case of shooting yourself in the foot to us.

It’s a shame that this once quality actor wants to go down in a blaze of self-righteousness. Why can’t he just start filming Lethal Weapon 5 instead? At least that’d be (mostly) intentionally funny.

We’ve already wasted enough space on this fool. If you want to know more on this story try News 24.
