Mariah Carey's career has been all over the place. First she was riding high,
then everyone realized her music was wanting for any general quality,
and then everyone forgot they didn't like her and liked her again.
Her career hasn't just been singing either, she's also an actress. She was in that over-the-top flop Glitter, and she's appeared in tons of porn flicks. Oh wait…that wasn't her in the porn…that was someone named Mary Carey, but you see where the confusion can come in, right?
Well so does Mariah Carey, and she's pissed. That's why singer
is suing the pants off the skin-flicktress (maybe literally)…because
her performance name is way too similar to Mariah's own.
Mariah Carey is suing Mary Carey, a porn star with a name a little too close for comfort as far as the songstress is concerned. hecklerspray
believes it entirely possible that the porn star doesn't like the
similarity either, as she doesn't want to be compared to a mediocre
singer apparently fond of boring middle America to the point of tears.
Of the lawsuit, the porn-stress says:
"It's kind of funny because I'm a porn star and I've
been being myself for a long time. I think she's being silly…I'm
ready to battle Mariah over this because I've been Mary Carey for a
long time."
While the porn star's lawyer said:
"My first thought was, does Mariah Carey realize what
her lawyer is comparing her to and are they seriously concerned? Do
they seriously think the fans are going to be confused?"
Sounds serious, doesn't it? Lawsuits always do. With Mariah apparently
taking impostors so seriously, we just hope she doesn't find out we
just insured our legs for 1 billion dollars, want to make a Glitter II, and have hired someone solely to keep our skirts from touching the floor.
Yes, sometimes we wear skirts. Once you get used to it, that weird pendulum motion they allow is pretty darn soothing.
