Mariah Carey Makes Live 8 Even Worse

Noble cause, awful line-up. That seems to be the maxim of the Live 8 organisers so far. Something which hasn’t changed with the latest murmurings from Mediocrity Central.
Permanently warbling wench Mariah Carey (CDs) is reported to be desperately "trying to think of something that would make her performance really special." Like singing in something other than a high-pitched donkey bray, for example. Let’s be fair, it couldn’t get any worse could it?
Well, she wants to perform a Live 8 duet with George Michael.
We stand corrected.
Carey recalled how she "idolised George since she was a schoolgirl", and how she "looked at him and wanted to know what he was doing". Obviously no-one sat her down and answered her question: "well dear, he’s warbling some awfully bland ’song’ with a smugly profound look on his face."
"She thinks a duet with George is the perfect thing," a source explained. hecklerspray can only assume that the source forget to add "for slitting your wrists to" at the end of that sentence.
So, please. Mr. Bush. Mr. Blair. Cancel the debt. The future of popular culture depends on it.

You must be kidding me. Mariah may be awful, but how can you so heavily criticise a line-up with Pink Floyd, The Who, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Muse, Robbie Williams, REM and U2, amongst others. 10 headliners in one gig? You’re right, terrible line-up.

I think the point is it’s not that exciting is it? Lots of celebs who can afford to give their time, and actually their money were it required, all seems a bit self-congratulatory. I for one would like to see some differnt genres, not just lowest common denominator chart grabbers.

No offense, but calling the most popular and highest-selling female artist of all time, who, might I add, has enjoyed more chart sucess than anyone on that list (well, except for Paul McCartney, but that was with the Beatles, so I digress) an “awful” singer is pretty stupid. I’m not saying Mariah is better than anyone else on that list, but I think it’s very rude of you to actually make an article about this.

This article was absolutely ridiculous! Ok, so the writer doesn’t like Mariah but she is undeniably one of the most talented and successful singers of the past 15 years, not to mention the best-selling female artist of all time (and that’s for a reason!). Its sad that someone has to be so immature and diss such a talent who is stronger than ever and it will be a treat for the audience when MC performs. And George Michael is also a timeless talent so don’t diss him either! And whoever said Mariah dresses like a porn star is wrong. She has greatly matured in her style of dress. The Live 8 lineup is great!

Mariah Carey’s hit single, “We Belong Together,” from her The Emancipation Of Mimi album, set the all-time one-week Billboard Hot 100 audience record with more than 190 million radio listeners hearing the song last week. The single has topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop song charts for three weeks in a row. The song is also Number One on the Urban and Rhythmic Top 40 singles charts.
The previous record was set by Mario at the beginning of the year with just under 190 million listeners, for “Let Me Love You.” Usher held the record before him a little over 170 million, for 2004’s “Yeah!”
Mariah secured her place as the Number One most successful female artist of all time last month when “We Belong Together” became her sixteenth song to top the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah only has a few more hits to go before she catches up with Elvis Presley — who has 18 Number One hits and the greatest all-time hit makers the Beatles — who have 20 Number One hits.
Mariah will appear on the 5th Annual BET Awards broadcast on June 28, where she is also nominated for Best Female R&B singer.
Beginning with her self-titled debut album in 1990, Mariah has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, making her the top-selling female artist in history.

Mariah is terrible, she only seems to sell CD’s in USA. I wonder why that is?
