One of the best things about Love Island so far - apart from watching 11 dimwits staring at a map of the world like it was a complex polynominal equation - is knowing that one of them will be going home soon.

Love Island is such a ridiculous idea for a TV show - we'll pay tens of thousands of pounds to a bunch of people who aren't even really famous for them go to Fiji and cry at the slightest provocation - that we're not even sure if it's good or bad television. Judging from the first couple of days, at least we can decide that Love Island is quite boring television. And it's beyond doubt that Patrick Kielty is a bit of a dick. Shayne Lynch - Oh, how could Love Island ever lose Shayne Lynch first? For a start, he's easily the most famous person on Love Island, although it's tenuous - if the cow that did a wee on Bill Oddie's wee on breakfast TV a few years ago was a surprise late entrant, Shayne would lose that particular title. Plus, Shayne is already popular enough to be voted into the Love Shack. Plus, he was so nice to that young Hollyoaks boy that he made him burst into tears. Lee Otway - Speaking of the tiny weeping Hollyoaks lad, here he is. And bursting into tears because everyone's just so flipping nice seems to have done Lee's Love Island chances no harm at all - there are probably some girls who find watching tiny underdeveloped boys sobbing their eyes out quite adorable. We'll see what they think when, after three or four weeks, Lee becomes so overwhelmed by uncontrollable sexual urges that he's caught trying to penetrate a washed-up cuttlefish, though. Chris Brosnan - Don't you just hate it when you hear that an obnoxious, egotistical drug-guzzling son of a filmstar is going on a rubbish reality TV show purely to boost his minuscule profile, only to not hate him quite as much as you'd initially imagined? That's what we've been finding with Chris Brosnan on Love Island, and he's doing our head in with his quite grounded behaviour.
