Looky Look, It’s A Seven Pounds Featurette
Remember Seven Pounds?
Oh, you know, Seven Pounds. It was that Will Smith movie that you didn’t go and see because a) the title of the movie didn’t explain anything about it, b) the movie poster didn’t explain anything about it, c) the movie trailer didn’t explain anything about it and d) it seemed like a rip-off of 21 Grams, a film so unrelentingly bleak that we genuinely surprised ourselves by not smothering ourselves to death 20 minutes in.
Anyway, Seven Pounds is coming out on DVD soon, and after the jump there’s a featurette that actually explains what the film is about. Kind of.
This is one of those movies that is supposed to keep you guessing until the very end. Problem is, the movie starts off by giving you far too little information then ends up giving you far too much. So the whole first half is just one big WTF but you’ve still managed to figure out the ending by about the 3/4 mark. In short, an interesting concept badly executed.
