A mother's love is unconditional and eternal, and often gives female newspaper columnists the right to use the prefix "as a mother…" to justify wanting to do terrible things to all kinds of people. Lindsay Lohan's mother is no different, you know.
Old Ma Lohan, who sometimes goes by the name Dina, has got wind of the nasty letter that the producer of Lindsay Lohan's new movie wrote her daughter after she had the temerity to cost the production hundreds of thousands of dollars by possibly partying just a little too much and ending up in hospital. And proving that there's nothing in the world as scary as an overprotective mother, Old Ma Lohan has called the letter "ridiculous."
Lindsay Lohan, for all her pretend lesbian dancing and boyband shagging antics, is still a bit of a Mummy's girl. She's not so much of a Daddy's girl – unless you call singing a song with the lyrics "Daughter to father/ Tell me the truth/ Did you ever love me!!!?" being a Daddy's girl, of course – but it looks as if Old Ma Lohan has enough love for two.
For example, when Lindsay Lohan cut herself up on a teacup, Lindsay's Mum Dina Lohan was… OK, so she didn't make a public statement at that point. And when Lindsay Lohan was in a car crash… again, no public statement from Dina. But when a 70-year-old man writes Lindsay Lohan a letter because her constant rudeness and partying is endangering the quality of the film she's making – boy oh boy, does Dina Lohan ever go apeshit.
The 70-year-old man in question is James G Robinson, producer of Lindsay Lohan's new film Georgia Rule, and he wrote the letter after Lindsay was taken to hospital last week. Initial reports suggested that Lindsay Lohan was hospitalised because she was overheated and dehydrated from a 12-hour shift in 105 degree temperatures, but Robinson stated in his letter to Lohan that:
"We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion'."
Now that Dina Washington has got wind of this letter, she's gone bananas at James G Robinson. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Dina Lohan blasted:
"Maybe he has personal issues with whomever and it came out with my child. I don't know him. I can't judge him. I don't think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl. Lindsay was in 105 [degree weather] saying 'Mommy, I feel sick – like I am going to faint.' She took herself to the hospital. She has asthma and in extreme cold or heat you can't breathe."
Lindsay Lohan's asthma has shown up once already this year, when the humidity of Florida set off an attack. What Lindsay Lohan really needs to save any more of this trouble is a tattoo, probably on her wrist, reminding her to breathe now and again. Oh, hang on…
