The love between a parent and child is unconditional, which is just as well - because if it wasn't we'd imagine that Lindsay Lohan wouldn't love her Dad for running around telling everyone who'll listen that his daughter is hooked on OxyContin.
Just as Lindsay Lohan probably thought that things couldn't get any worse for her - what with a potentially drug and booze-fuelled car crash and arrest and subsequent trip to rehab coinciding with some of Lindsay Lohan's friends telling the press about the time that Lindsay kept attempting suicide - her father Michael Lohan has decided to loudly claim that Lindsay Lohan is hooked on OxyContin. OxyContin, for the uninitiated, is a prescription painkiller with side effects loosely related to a heroin rush that, coincidentally, is mostly taken by people with girlfriends who think going to see Lindsay Lohan movies is a good idea.
If you suffer from cancer or chronic pain then OxyContin is probably the drug for you - its patented bonding agent blends with its main ingredient, opium derivative oxycodone, in order to measure the amount of oxycodone in the blood and supply the user with the appropriate level of pain relief over a 12-hour period of time. OxyContin is probably the drug for you if you're Lindsay Lohan too, because does that shit ever get you high.
Although the common consensus seemed to be that Lindsay Lohan's main problems were either alcohol - what we presumed Lindsay went to rehab for earlier this year; or cocaine - which Lindsay was seemingly pictured sitting around a few weeks ago - it seems like everyone was wrong. Lindsay Lohan's dad Michael Lohan is pleased that Lindsay crashed her car, got attested and went to rehab this week because maybe it'll help Lindsay kick her main addiction - OxyContin. Michael Lohan was so pleased, in fact, that he couldn't help but blurt it out to anyone who'll listen, as Newsday reports:
"I spoke to the people treating Lindsay, because I wanted to make sure she was getting the right care," Michael Lohan told E! Online. "And I'm satisfied they are doing the right thing for her, helping her detox from the painkillers and things. That's a very important step."
First Lindsay Lohan's friends reveal her suicide secrets and now her dad is revealing her addiction to painkillers. Since the whole world has already seen Lindsay Lohan's vagina by now, the poor girl literally has no secrets left. That's if Michael Lohan's claims are true anyway - don't forget that before Michael Lohan was a born-again drug-counselling Christian he was Lindsay Lohan's jailbird dad who was so estranged from Lindsay that she wrote a soppy ballad about what a shit he was to her.
But let's just say for the sake of argument that Lindsay Lohan is addicted to OxyContin - it explains a lot, doesn't it. When Lindsay Lohan gashed her leg on a teacup, maybe she did it to get OxyContin. When Lindsay Lohan fell and shattered her wrist, maybe she did it to get OxyContin. When Lindsay Lohan got her appendix taken out, maybe she did it to get OxyContin. In fact, if we're to go down this road then by threatening to kick her ass, William H Macy could basically be seen as Lindsay Lohan's OxyContin enabler - and for that he should probably go on TV and apologise or something.

If you had any experience with a child who was hooked on Oxy and almost died, you might just understand her father telling the world. If he is a recoverying addict of any drug, god bless him for telling everybody, his mission and purpose is to expose this nasty drug in any way he can. Good for him telling the world. She needs some serious and long term rehab, not a 30 day program. So this movie she is supposed to do, she should worry about her sobriety for the next year and forget about the move………she is lucky to be alive. Oxy is a mean drug and highly addictive and is slowly becomming the next plague!! It appears that she has hit rock bottom, just where she needs to be, god willing she will get the help she needs and recover. When she does, just maybe she can in turn spread the word and help some others recover from drug abuse.

If I remember correctly, dad hasn’t had contact with her in years, but now he has the inside scoop? Yeah, sure dad… He is just looking for some extra publicity for himself, like he always has.
I feel for this girl, because she is truly messed up. But all the media attention will only kill her, not help her. But she is such an attention seeker that she is probably constitutionally incapable of staying out of the spotlight, let along getting honest with herself. I wouldn’t bet on her getting or staying sober- the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior, sad to say. It is the rare person indeed who can beat alcoholism and addiction, and it’s a fight they must continue for the rest of their lives, not just to avoid jail or something. Fat chance, I’m afraid.

First off, this is a ludicrous article. I am a 40 year old woman with chronic, horrific, back pain. The pain is so intense, I can’t sit, nor stand for more than a few minutes at a time. I also am unable to work. I also take Oxycontin which at least has given me part of my life back. It enables me to be a human being again and do some of the things most people take for granted. The fact that this drug is bashed by those that have no need for it, is easy. And despite what some of you misguided and uninformed individuals think, it wasn’t easy for me to even get a prescription for the drug in the first place. I don’t take this drug to get high, I take it so I can have a life, I can have a pain-free day, so I can get out of bed, so I can function.
If some nit-wit like Lindsey Lohan takes it so she can get high, she’s an idiot! Most people I know who are in chronic pain don’t take it to get high either. And if you don’t take it to get high, there is no problem with addiction.
Before all of you judge something, like OxyContin as being a “nasty drug” ask yourself what you would do if you had horrific pain and there was nothing else that eased that pain? If you were the one with horrid pain, you might not be so quick to judge…

I so agree with you - i have been in chronic pain for 7 years now and have been greatly helped by pain medications similar to oxycontin (not that exact one though). It has become SO HARD for honest people who are in very real pain to get our meds because of people who abuse them. It used to frustrate me and now it makes me very mad!
I Have no idea what “Kevin From Bathurst” is talking about (clearly he doesn’t either though :->) - but I and anyone else who has to live with the terrible thing that is chronic pain will *absolutely* know what you are talking about!

Ms. Lohan doesn’t need this medication - she has not, to my knowledge, been grievously injured, does not have a pain condition - this is a medication that only a doctor can prescribe! And when we are on these meds, we go see our doctors frequently to make sure that everything is OK. But it is scary that people who MISUSE them could possibly get them taken away from honest people.
I feel sorry for Ms. Lohan - she has crappy parents who use her for money and to get into clubs - is it ANY wonder that she is such a mess now? There but for the grace of God go i - and i really hope that she gets the help she needs and can have a good life.

i think its stupid to down a medication that helps millions of people daily. i don’t know about you but i suffer from multiple sclurosis, fibromyalgia,cfs, and lymes. and i take it to have a better quality of life. if some idiot out there found a way to get high off of(ex.)some over the counter drug than that would be the new thing and oxy would be forgoy about. but the damn media has to get in everybodies buisiness today and it pisses me off. if im going to have a chance at loosing my medicine over these crack head trashy mother####### than let it be but #@#@ the gov. and media because people that really do suffer from a chronic illness should be left alone and get the most support of anyone.
