Lesley From Big Brother Legally Didn’t Shag 100 Men

There's such a steady stream of housemates on Big Brother these days that most of them are erased from our mind the instant they leave the Big Brother house, but some refuse to crawl back to anonymity - just like Lesley from Big Brother 2005.

Oh come on, you remember Lesley from Big Brother 2005 - big girl, northern, fond of ill-fitting PVC uniforms, crippling lack of any self-awareness whatsoever… that's right, her. Anyway, Lesley from Big Brother - or Lesley Sanderson as she's bewilderingly started to call herself now - has thrown herself back into the news by winning a large amount of money from the Daily Star after the newspaper claimed that Lesley had, amongst other things, slept with 100 men. These claims were entirely false, the High Court decided yesterday. In actual fact Lesley from Big Brother had slept with over a billion men, 128 different kinds of animal and - during one particularly dull evening - an entire cross-channel ferry. And it didn't even touch the sides.

Oh come on, that was a joke. Don't sue us.

Big Brother clips along at such a pace that it's hard to remember storylines from certain seasons. While everyone now thinks of Big Brother as the chronically racist show it has, at various other points in time, been the laugh at the mentally disabled man show and the giant-lipped homosexual wearing a coat made of monkeys show. Prior to all that, though, there was a season of Big Brother where two pikeys put scabs in a black man's mince and sort of got away with it - Big Brother 2005.

And part of Big Brother 2005, for a very short amount of time, was Lesley Sanderson. But Lesley Sanderson left her mark on Big Brother long after she disappeared, for the way the she a) shoe-horned her wobbly body into a vomit-inducing PVC nurse outfit on her way into the house, b) proceeded to call herself 'the fittest girl in Huddersfield' on the basis that - although her face and personality were about as attractive as the thought of chewing on some acne - she was in possession of two thundering wads of saggy pulsating benippled fat that were somehow attached to her torso, and c) incessantly bullied any female who got more attention from boys, which is more or less every female alive.

Lesley Sanderson didn't last long in the Big Brother house, but it was when she left that things got interesting, because that's when the Daily Star published two stories on her, one claiming that Lesley had slept with over 100 men, got pregnant at 15 and offered sexual favours to boys at school, and the other one claiming that Lesley had sex with the man who was trying to teach her how to drive. Lesley Sanderson sued the Daily Star for this, and yesterday she won. Reuters reports:

Lesley Sanderson, who appeared in the sixth series of the show in 2005, had sued the Daily Star over two stories the paper had printed about her. Her lawyer Michelle French told the High Court that the paper's first story in May 2005, headlined "Lesley's a Tonne of Fun", had made numerous false allegations about Sanderson, a sales coordinator from Huddersfield… "All the allegations in both articles are totally untrue. The articles were devastating for Lesley Sanderson," French said. "They caused her great distress and embarrassment and she felt humiliated and upset knowing that they would be read by her friends and her family."

This is heartbreaking - first we discover that Teri Hatcher doesn't have sex with men in vans and now we discover that a very minor, mostly forgotten contestant from a gameshow two years ago hasn't had sex with quite as many people as a tabloid newspaper said she did. This has blown our minds, and we're toying with taking the rest of the day off - feel free to do the same.
