Singer LeAnn Rimes and her husband, actor Eddie Cibrian,?are involved in a very ugly and very public feud with Eddie’s ex-wife, Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star and former model,?Brandi Glanville, with allegations swirling about instability, deception, narcissism, and eating disorders. While those claims may or may not be true, it seems to me that the bigger, over-arching ?issue is that?all three of them appear to be petulant, publicity whores.?
The mess first began when LeAnn and Eddie had an?affair back in 2009, when Eddie was married to Brandi and LeAnn was married to some other guy. The affair was made public, both marriages ended, and?LeAnn and Eddie got married. It’s all a bit sordid, with the most unfortunate part being the likely impact?the drama must have on Eddie and Brandi’s two children together.
LeAnn, for her part, likes to make herself out to be the victim in the situation, bemoaning the public’s unkind reaction to her decision to fuck a married father.?She says:
“No one will ever understand how much thought and hurt were put into our decision.”
To be fair, their relationship wasn’t a fluke … they got married and do seem legitimately in love. And that’s great. But when you have an extra-marital affair,?you can’t truly expect people?not to judge you for it. True love or not … it’s simply a character issue.
“People are so quick to judge and make decisions for themselves about situations they know absolutely nothing about.”
Again, that’s quite true. But?LeAnn has admitted that Eddie and she had an extra-marital affair. That’s enough information to form at least a tiny opinion about her character.
Brandi claims that LeAnn is “unstable,” a dangerous influence on her kids, and that she suffers from a “severe eating disorder.”?Specifically, she?asserts that one of her sons got sick after ingesting LeAnn’s laxatives, which he mistook for candy.
I would really like to take Brandi’s side in the argument, but I’ve seen the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and she’s pretty awful. In reaction to comments by LeAnn and Eddie, Brandi tweeted:
“Im not bitter Im concerned 4 MY kids,Im not n luv with EC n ANY way,Im happy 2 go BACK 2 therapy with them &PS I left him he didnt leave me.”
This whole thing is quite distasteful to me, and, admittedly, I’m grumpy and old, but I really hate her purely for all the fucking?abbreviations.
In an email to Brandi that was made public, Eddie wrote:
“One day when wine and narcissism are not consuming you, you will see how fortunate the kids are to have LeAnn in their life.”
The wine and narcissism comment is pretty funny, and once again, having seen The Real Housewices of Beverly Hills, probably pretty apt. Hopefully it’s true that the kids are lucky to have LeAnn in their lives … the fact is that the public doesn’t know, because it’s their private business.?It’s truly unfortunate that they can’t deal with this mess?privately and diplomatically, with whatever shreds of dignity they might have left. For the kids’ sake.

To even think about the feelings of others involved at all says an awful lot to me. I have a cousin who was diagnosed with all sorts of cancer last year and all that her husband could do was jump in bed with someone who did not give a flying flip about the impact that doing such a thing would have on my cousin who sadly passed away on the Monday before Thanksgiving, may she haunt the little word that I can’t say!!!
God bless you and LeAnn always!!!
