Lauren Conrad first gained public attention?as a rich bitch on MTV’s reality?series, Laguna Beach. Riding on that success, she’s gone on to do more mind-numbing television, designed some clothes, written a few books, blah blah blah. While she’s definitely the most sensible and?realistically pretty of that gaggle of?cosmetic surgery disasters that came out of the Laguna Beach empire,?I’ve never really understood what is so fascinating about her.
L.C., as her friends apparently call her, is nice-looking, not stunning, but definitely pleasant-looking. The problem is whenever I look at her, I see a middle-aged woman dying to pop out. Not that she looks older than her years, just that I can visualize her?in a tacky suburban home with an apron and a frumpy hairstyle and withering beauty. ?I think it’s the shape of her face. In any event, as is very often the case with women under thirty, she?looks definitely looks her best with a?more natural look. And, in fact, Lauren Conrad without makeup actually looks quite pretty.
In the first photo of Conrad without makeup, she is making her way throught the airport with her face down, trying to go unnoticed. This photo is proof that she does not need?heavy makup, because she actually looks very simple and lovely with her glasses and her hair pulled back. Her bare face looks fresh and pretty.
The second makeup-free?photo shows her again with the heavy black-rimmed granny glasses and her hair pulled back, still somehow looking pretty. A tiny bit dumpy, but pretty is still fair. Is that a lottery ticket in her hand?
