Kimberly Stewart Still Doesn’t Have Any Liver Disease

Some of us are naturally predisposed to shy away from the limelight, but we never realised that Kimberly Stewart was too, partly because her Dad is rocker Rod Stewart and partly because she seems to be a bit an attention-whoring nobsack.

But now it seems as if Kimberly Stewart has found her natural publicity boundaries. By all means you can talk about Kimberly Stewart falling out of clubs drunk a lot, not really having a proper job or only having friends who are also vacuous pointless second-generation celebrities with rich parents, but you absolutely cannot talk about Kimberly Stewart drinking and smoking so much that her liver packed up. That's because it didn't. Not that a little fact like that stopped Rod Stewart going round telling everyone that it was true, though.

Now that Rod Stewart's getting on so much that he was planning to quit music until he was ordered to pay a casino £1 million, he's slowly becoming an older statesman of the music scene. No issue is too big or small for Rod Stewart to wade in on, whether it's how well some X Factor singers perform his songs, if Paul McCartney stabbed his wife or not, or how completely riddled with liver disease his daughter Kimberly Stewart.

Oh, you remember Kimberly Stewart - she was going to star in a new series of The Simple Life with Paris Hilton before Paris and Nicole Richie made friends again. Kimberly Stewart is probably most famous for having such a juddering lack of foresight that she's the only woman on the planet who can't see that any engagement to a ladder-climbing reality TV titwad who you've only known for a couple of weeks is crushingly bound to end miserably after 11 pointless days. But that's all in the past - now Kimberly Stewart is most famous for having a Dad who brags about all the liver disease that she doesn't have. That's what Rod Stewart did last week, and Kimberly Stewart has been forced to put out a statement embarrassingly denying that her liver has exploded inside her and taken out her spleen in the process, or something:

"I love my dad but sometimes he has a big mouth - and not just when he's singing. I don't have a liver disease. I was exhausted and feeling sick from burning the candle at both ends, and my doctor told me to cut back on drinking and smoking, which I have and I feel so much better."

Usually when a father tells the world that his daughter has a knackered kidney when she doesn't, he's be quickly put on the shortlist of the most embarrassing dads in the world. But this is Rod Stewart we're talking about - and he's already on the list several times for his lack of dress sense, lack of dancing ability and lack of ability to go out with anyone older than his children - so we can't really bring ourselves to do it this time.
