Loonish rapping cowboy Kid Rock has been arrested on assault charges after an altercation with a strip club DJ. He allegedly punched resident spinner Jerry Campos twice inside the disc jockey booth at 2:50 am on Friday morning.

The incident happened at Christie’s Cabaret in downtown Nashville, but the musician (we use that term liberally on hecklerspray) is already out on a $3,000 bail bond from the Nashville Criminal Justice Center. Oops.

The 34 year-old is set for his hearing on 30 March on charges of assault, which could lead to a one-year jail sentence.

Perhaps, it was the DJ’s reluctance to play Kid Rock’s so-good-it-hurts-real-bad music, which had caused the fight. But surely the professional DJ knew his dancefloor better that the Rock? Anybody who has witnessed the jocks emerge from nowhere to storm the party singing ‘I wanna be a cowwwboyyy babaaayyy’ will know that Kid Rock tunes are to be avoided in public, much less in nightclubs. In fact, astonishingly, Kid Rock’s hillbilly (c)rap ‘music’ has been known to make even deaf people cringe.

So please, let’s all unite and rid the world of this travesty in music and instead help Kid Rock to either work in construction, or make him realise that his talent would be welcomed in the army. Then his toughness will be assured and he could punch whoever he likes, even the recruits.

Let’s hope that this will at least hamper any new music of his, for some considerable time.
