When a man's wife leaves him to go bananas, shave her hair off and run around a treatment facility with numbers written all over her head yelling that she's the devil, he'd be right to feel smug – but Kevin Federline isn't smug about Britney Spears.

In fact, Kevin Federline seems to be taking his new role as the sensible one out of Kevin Federline and Britney Spears incredibly seriously. Now that it has emerged that Kevin's support of rehab-bound Britney Spears has sparked a possible romantic rekindling between the couple, Kevin Federline has been seen out and about with his head shaved in an attempt to comfort bald Britney Spears. Whether or not Kevin Federline's new-found solidarity for Britney Spears will extend to smashing a car to pieces with an umbrella, scrawling the number '666' across his head and shrieking about how he's the Antichrist to various passers-by like a lunatic remains to be seen, but we kind of hope it does.

We're not sure what happened to the old Kevin Federline, but we'd quite like him back please. We miss the old days where Kevin Federline would neglect his children for parties, write the words 'Fuck A Wife' on toilet doors and make a hip-hop album so appalling that he had to give away his shoes to sell any copies. We miss the days when Kevin Federline wanting custody of Britney Spears' kids seemed like a deranged flight of fancy and not a fairly good idea. 

But now Kevin Federline is just acting strange. Ever since Britney Spears and Kevin Federline split up, Kevin Federline has seemed kind of… responsible. Admittedly that's responsible in comparison to Britney Spears, a woman who has spent the last few weeks blasting vomit all over the place with her vagina right where everyone can see it and deciding to shave her head so that her umbrella spaz-attack on cars could be marginally more aerodynamic.

All throughout Britney Spears' disturbing meltdown, people have been quick to chime in with bald Britney Spears dolls, brilliant bald Britney Spears haikus or – in Simon Cowell's case – the world's biggest Britney-related shrug; but Kevin Federline has been right there for Britney Spears all the time, providing all the love and attention that a woman who writes '666' on her head with a pen, charges about a rehab facility claiming to be the devil and tries to commit suicide with a bed deserves.

And it seems to have worked – thanks to Kevin Federline taking his kids to see Britney Spears in rehab , Britney and Kevin are apparently in love again, and Kevin Federline has taken the ultimate sacrifice to symbolise it; in a show of unity with Britney Spears, Federline has shaved his hair off too, as The Sun reports:

Kevin, 28 — who is divorcing pop star Britney — told pals at a party in Las Vegas the crop was to honour his missus. One said: “He said he still loves her.” Britney, 25, shaved off her hair in a dramatic public breakdown and is in rehab.

Well, Kevin Federline says that he still loves Britney Spears, but there might just be some kind of ulterior motive going on. Perhaps Kevin has watched Mrs Doubtfire a few too many times and believes that he can trick his young children into thinking that he is Britney Spears by shaving his head and talking in a high-pitched voice all the time. And who can blame him – in our experience, a shaved head is just about the only way you can coerce an infant into suckling on your man-nipples.
