Are you kidding me? Kenneth Branagh is a master of the period piece genre – of which Thor is HEAVILY rooted in, and I’m sure will be a large part of the film. There’s no doubt that having an accomplished thespian/actor/director will show big time – think of the way the dialogue will be delivered now because of Branagh. I guarantee that “verily thou hast” shit will be 50% less cheesy.

Have you not seen Hamlet? Dead Again? Branagh’s a master. I’ll gladly see Thor. It’s not like he’s doing some unnecessary and [retarded] adaptation of Superman (I’m looking at you, Bryan Singer). I don’t see how KB doing Thor could be a bad thing.

It helps if the director and scriptwriter actually READ the comic books. Jon Favreau did a good job with Iron Man because he knew the story and understood the character. Ang Lee was a great director for every other movie he’s done but just had no clue on the Hulk. Thor will probably require two actors – you can’t CGI Thor and I dont think the same guy can play Donald Blake. Getting someone to deliver Thor’s lines and not sound corny will be a tough casting challenge — like Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, he was one of the few actors who could do those lines without sounding cheesy.
