Katie Holmes To Star In Victoria Beckham: The Movie?

Here's one from our Terrifying But Thankfully Mostly Unsubstantiated files - it's been reported that Tom Cruise's soon-to-be wife Katie Holmes is going to star as Victoria Beckham in a film about the life of David Beckham.

Yes, you read that right - the life of David Beckham is rumoured to be given a needless Hollywood makeover, and it's all down to that placenta-eating, baby-hiding ninny Tom Cruise. According to reports, one of the last movie ideas Tom Cruise pitched to Paramount before he was tossed out on his ear was a biopic of girly-voiced former England footballer David Beckham.

Surprisingly enough, this David Beckham movie idea wasn't one of the reasons why Paramount decided to get rid of Tom Cruise; the idea has apparently been optioned and a script is apparently being written - and if that wasn't enough, silent mother and pretend virgin Katie Holmes is currently the frontrunner to play Victoria Beckham. An 'insider' told The Star:

"Tom has a brilliant grasp of what the public want to see and thought David's story was wonderful. A football star emerges from humble origins, there's drama within the matches and romance in his love affair with Victoria at the height of her pop star fame. The quartet have become very close friends and the Beckhams would only be happy about their story being used if Tom and Katie were involved. Katie is perfect to play a young Posh and has been working on her accent."

The David Beckham script - working title One Good Goal Against Greece And Three Crap World Cups - is said to be about David Beckham's rise from impish cockney footballer to perfume-seller extraordinaire, with the film's climactic ending being the moment when he and Victoria Beckham finally clap eyes on the Godlike wiggy beauty of Suri Cruise.

What we want to know is, if Katie Holmes is going to be Victoria Beckham, who's going to play Rebecca Loos?
