Kate Moss Gets Robbed

Digg this!

This week has ominously shown us there are two things the rich and famous cannot escape from, health and crime.

All the money in the world won’t keep your heart ticking indefinitely; and although you might be able to buy  a bigger burglar alarm, if somebody wants to rob you, they will. It just depends on how far they’re willing to go.

Thankfully model Kate Moss (Books) wasn’t on the violent receiving end of anything more than her own frustration when she got robbed in London’s St. John’s Wood on Thursday.

Her house was broken into and promptly relieved of a £4,000 stereo system and a £2,500 jacket (for that sort of money we’d hope it’s leather).

The thieves then broke into the Land Rover she had parked outside and stole her purse and boots.

Easy to say now that they would be daft things for anybody to leave in a car, but with yob culture now becoming more talked about than Abi Titmuss’s orgy preferences, Kate really should have known better.

"She was upset at losing her jacket and boots.” commented a neighbour.

Despite this Kate still decided not to call the police as she believed there would be nothing they could do. Sad, and yet undoubtedly true.

With coppers becoming increasingly like garage mechanics in making that “oh, ah…tut-tut” noise when you call them about anything less than an international hijacking, it would have probably just been a waste of twenty pence.

And how did these nasty thieves break into Kate’s fortress-like home? An audacious Ocean’s Eleven-style raid with ropes, pulleys and Don Cheadle (DVDs) leaping up and down dressed as Pearly King?

No, a brick. They smashed her window with a brick.

Genius.
