Typically, I would start this post with an “Ugh, white people,” but tbh, as I have to keep reminding you, I’m white. I’m super white and I know without a shadow of a doubt that TLC sang the 90’s mega jam, “Waterfalls.” I legit have a TLC candle on my office desk. It was a gift from my friend Aryn for my 30th birthday.
Karlie Kloss is one of those next level rich, millennial white girls. Like, they’re so rich and white that they hang out with Taylor Swift’s “squad” and rap all the wrong words to “Forgot about Dre” and probably think that’s like Dr. Dre’s first song because he decided to release his own album after discovering Eminem or some shit.
I’m kind of all over the place here, but I’m really having trouble wrapping my head around this whole Karlie Kloss thinks Destiny’s Child sang “Waterfalls” thing.
Karlie filled out a Mega Fan Quiz in the latest LOVE Magazine and…well….just read just read it for yourself…
Yes…C’mon Waterfalls, indeed. Karlie has also said that she’s seen Beyoncé in concert a few times. I mean, did she NEVER wonder why Beyoncé didn’t break out her mega hit Waterfalls EVER? And Destiny’s Child were broken up in 2003 because that’s the year Beyoncé released “Crazy in Love”? Girl, I don’t think you’re a Beyoncé fan girl AT ALL.
Some of you might be wondering why whoever was responsible for publishing this shit didn’t go “Uhh, Karlie, for such a Beyoncé fan girl shouldn’t you know that Beyoncé did not now, or ever, sing Waterfalls?”
The answer is simple: They were too busy editing the rest of her quiz and whiting shit out and filling it back in with things that made sense, so the Waterfalls thing was just a total oversight.
You see, the rest of the quiz actually went like this:
Favourite Song: I Wanna Dance With Somebody! Another Beyoncé JAM!
Favourite Band: Bruce Springsteen and the Heartbreakers
Favourite Book: To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Beckham. It was SO sad when the bird died 🙁
Favorite Film: Pretty Woman/Anything with Julia Stiles.
I mean, with THAT much stuff to deal with and fix, that little Waterfalls endnote kind of just got overlooked, which I totally get.
That being said, I have never had a stronger understanding of why this girl and Taylor Swift are best friends…
