Theater_seats_1When American stars come to act in West End plays in London, everyone’s a winner. They get to swan around, thinking that by standing on a grubby stage they’re reclaiming their integrity; and we get to pretend that London is cool, plus we can laugh at the strange ways of the funny filmstars.

Justin Timberlake is a very lucky boy - he’s next in line for a theatre stint.

Most people know that Kevin Spacey (DVDs) is the artistic director at The
Old Vic
theatre in London, and he’s doing his best to pizazz the whole
place up by inviting a whole bunch of his famous mates to memorise some
words and then say them in front of an audience.

And Justin Timberlake (CDs) has been many things in his life: a
curly-haired squeaky-voiced dancer, a shaven-headed squeaky-voiced
dancer, a squeaky-voiced dancer in a hat to name but three. But he’s
apparently keen to move away from all that singing and dancing in order
to become a serious actor like Sir Laurence Olivier or Rob Schneider.

And recently, the two unstoppable forces of Spacey and Timberlake
collided on the film set of Edison, due for release next year. They
became good friends, and Kevin naturally offered Justin a role in an
Arthur Miller play at The Old Vic. Resurrection Blues - to be directed
by Robert Altman - is about a man who believes himself to be the Son of
God. It’s unclear whether Spacey or Timberlake will take this role.

Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend Cameron Diaz is also thought to have
filming commitments in London next year, so the couple are looking to
rent a house here. But worryingly, a source has said:

"The
pair have decided to turn it into a foreign adventure. They are keen to
absorb as much British culture as possible while they are
here."

Great. The countdown to the Timberlake/Diaz drunken nightclub car-park bottlefight starts here, folks.
