joss stone thanks everyoneWe're big fans of Joss Stone here at hecklerspray.

In fact, we'd even go so far as to say that - in terms of yodelling Crystal Tipps-lookalikes who make fools of themselves at awards ceremonies and occasionally release records that we couldn't even name - Joss Stone is, like, the best by a million billion miles.

Want to know something else about young Joss? She's the grateful type - and we don't mean that in the same way as those scary 45-year-old women you see hanging around Wetherspoons every Friday night. No, we mean that's she's so bloody thankful to everyone who's ever helped her that she couldn't even fit all their names on her new album sleeve.

So she put a dedication to 'em all online.

A 7,000-word dedication.

Now, there are many people from whom hecklerspray would be willing to read 7,000 words on a whim. Martin Amis, for example. Chuck Palahniuk. Don Delillo. Kurt Vonnegut. Joss Stone, we feel, may be pushing it a little bit … at least until we've got round to reading that 14,000-word 'What I Did On My Holidays' article by Lily Allen, anyway.

The long-winded online dedication malarkey is all to do with Joss's new release - her third album Introducing Joss Stone (we know, we know).

According to Auntie Beeb:

Soul singer Joss Stone has said a huge thank-you to the hundreds of people who helped and inspired her on her latest album - in a 7,000-word document. Stone re-directs fans from the album sleeve - where credits are usually listed - to her website, where the thank-you note runs to 12 A4 pages. Included in the credits are Lauryn Hill, James Brown, Vinnie Jones, Lemar, her parents, pet dogs and God.

Well - that's mighty nice of Joss Stone, we're sure you'll agree. If you care.

And as a mark of respect for this all-round benevolence, we've decided to scribble out our own list of people who have helped us 'get by' over the years. Honestly - it's safe to say that without these guys , we might not have made it through some of the darker times in our lives.

Most of all, though? We'd like to thank you.

No, not you, dickwad. We meant the bloke who's sat behind you.

Sorry about that, Dave. As we were saying: cheers and that.
