You have to feel sorry for the inmates of LA county jail. They’ll have to live with Joe Francis for the next nine months.
The guy behind Girls Gone Wild has been sentenced to 270 days in the slammer for several counts of assault, false imprisonment and “dissuading a witness from reporting”. In simpler terms, he trapped a woman in his house, knocked seven bells out of her and then told her friends not to say anything. He sounds delightful, doesn’t he?
Francis reportedly met the three ladies involved at an LA nightclub in January 2011, where they were celebrating graduating from college – and therefore too old to star in anything for Girls Gone Wild. He then took a shine to one of them, leading her into his limo while the other two followed, telling police later on that they thought they were all getting a lift home.
Basic girl code says that if you see a friend being herded into a limo by a famous porn producer, you need to cock-block like your life depends on it.
He took all three girls back to his Hollywood mansion, then when he tried to separate one of them from the other two, a scuffle broke out that resulted in him allegedly grabbing one of the girls by the hair and choke-slamming her against the floor.
His girlfriend sounds like one lucky lady.
Francis was convicted in May after a two week trial, and was sentenced this week to 270 days behind bars, ordered to complete a Level 3 anger management course and weekly counselling sessions. It’s a good start, but as Game of Thrones so eloquently put it, “there’s no cure for being a cunt.”
Rather than accepting his fate and slinking away with his tail between his legs, Francis is fighting the ruling, telling TMZ:
“I’m one hundred percent innocent…This is the last of this chapter guys, but thank you very much and I encourage everyone to look at the evidence and understand I did not do anything wrong, and I’ll be out for four years appealing this and we will win the appeal.”
I wouldn’t go booking any holidays just yet, Joe.
