Jessica Simpson Guards ‘Rough Up’ Snapper

Not so long ago, we idly claimed that Jessica Simpson wanted to be Angelina Jolie more than anything else in the world. We were half-joking, but now it's starting to look like we were really onto something.

Because, about a day after it was revealed that Angelina Jolie had sent the Secret Service to snatch back a stolen memory card containing photos of her and Brad Pitt in Namibia, a photographer is claiming that he was attacked by Jessica Simpson's bodyguards who stole his memory card because it contained pictures of Jessica Simpson. Whatever will Jessica do to ape Angelina Jolie next? Let's hope it involves watching Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life and copying the bit where Angelina goes into a shark pool and cuts her arm open.

The love that Jessica Simpson has for Angelina Jolie is manifesting itself in more and more obvious ways. Not only has there been the broken marriages and the terrible films to link the two, but also Jessica Simpson wants to adopt some brown kids like Angelina Jolie, too. And on top of all that, it looks as if Jessica has been keeping a close eye on Angelina's latest exploits, too.

Yesterday it was announced that police and Secret Service officers had seized a stolen memory card containing private pictures of Angelina Jolie that were splashed about the internet, so it's only natural that Jessica Simpson wanted to recreate the situation for herself - only, since it was Jessica Simpson, it was all apparently handled in a much more comically cack-handed way.

According to photographer John Roca, he was at the Pink Elephant nightclub in New York taking pictures of Jessica Simpson when four of her bodyguards leapt on him, beat him up a bit and stole his memory card. The way Roca explains the event is much more entertaining:

"As she turned around, I hit her with a volley of shots. Before you could say 'Madonna,' four guys pounced on me. I'm shocked. These guys jumped on me like a chicken on a June bug." 

A chicken on a June bug? Those bastards! But now, with possible police action heading towards the guards, there's been a bit of fingerpointing going on. Jessica Simpson's spokesperson blames the club, saying:

"This had nothing to do with Jessica's security. It was club security that acted on its own."

Meanwhile, the Pink Elephant nightclub says:

"All the bodyguards coming on heavy were employees of Jessica, not the club." 

So who's to blame, Jessica or the nightclub? We want to know, and we want to know quicker than you can say 'Madonna,' OK?
