When eighteen-year-old Jennifer Beals left Yale to audition for Flashdance, she’d never have guessed that she’d end up as an 80s pop culture icon.
Was it her every-girl appeal or that sexy welder hat-leg warmers combo? Perhaps it was the gaping hole at the top of her sweatshirt that bewitched audiences with a glimpse of her perfectly sculpted shoulder.
Whatever it was, Jennifer was hot, and her career was up and running. Many movie and television appearances later, nothing had seemed to capture that Flashdance heat until her recurring role as a workaholic art gallery manager in Showtime’s The L Word alongside Pam Grier and Sarah Shahi.
A thoughtful drama about the lives of lesbians, it had the added bonus of offering more than its fair share of steamy girl-on-girl action. With her 80s fans still watching and new lesbian-friendly devotees, Jennifer’s popularity seems secure.
And if you’re into sexy female vampires, here she is biting and sucking Nicholas Cage’s blood:
Jennifer Beals has appeared nude in six different films and the one with the most skin has to be The Bride (1985), where she goes full frontal. The downside? It’s a body double. The rest of the other shows mostly feature topless nudity, apart from Blood and Concrete which only offers a clear shot of her ass as she rides a guy.
