Jennifer Aniston is trying to big up Derailed, a vaguely sexy thriller that she stars in with Clive Owen. But critics have already taken Derailed outside, gave it a good knifing and left it to die. So rather than discuss subtle plot points of her new flick, Aniston is instead talking about her mother and Brad Pitt and all the other stuff she couldn’t keep schtum about if you stapled her mouth shut.

She’s moved on in her love life, she’s thrown a homeless stalker in
jail, she’s done hopelessly shallow interviews with serious magazines,
and she’s back on the movie promotion circuit to talk about Derailed.

But why should she talk about her films when she could talk about
her mother Nancy Dowd, who she’s just made up with, following a row
about a warts-and-all book about Aniston that Down wrote. Speaking to
Good Morning America, Jennifer said:

"Yeah, it’s been really nice. It’s been really nice. It’s crazy what,
you know, your life kind of being turned upside down will lead you to.
… For us it’s … it was the time, and it was going to happen when it was
supposed to happen. So this is good. It’s baby steps."

But
Jennifer Aniston didn’t reserve all her shambling half-sentences solely
for her Mum. What about the state of her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt?

"That’s very peaceful. It’s a really peaceful thing. That’s another
thing … people want it to be this war and this mean, terrible, shallow
thing that’s just playing like some soap opera or story line, and it’s
just not. So, yeah, pleasant, done."

We’re
beginning to see a pattern emerging here. You give Jennifer Aniston a
subject and watch her blather on incomprehensibly until she confuses
herself. Don’t believe us? Take her view on The Future. The millionaire
actress wants:

"To better my quality of life. That may mean I don’t
do this forever. I may not act forever. I want to go back to Greece.
I’ve never been to Ireland or
Scotland… Lot of places I’d like to go. Big world out there… Let me
say this: I have no idea if I won’t be sticking a needle in
my head either. I’m not
saying I’m against it. I’m just saying people can do whatever they want
to do."
