Jennifer Aniston Sort Of Wants To Make More Friends
In our weakest moments, we kind of feel sorry for Jennifer Aniston sometimes. If Aniston somehow stumbled a cure for all human illness, people would still only ask her about Vince Vaughn, Brad Pitt and Friends.
Richard and Judy are no different, except they didn't so much interview Jennifer Aniston as bombard her relentlessly with a string of gushingly complimentary statements until Jennifer kind of felt bad and told them exactly what they wanted to hear. And here's the news – Jennifer Aniston wants to make more episodes of Friends. Kind of. Well, one more episode of Friends, at a push. Maybe. Probably not, actually. And that's as good as a signed contract for Richard and Judy.
Now that all the fuss about Brad Pitt and topless photos and screaming at the sea has died down, Jennifer Aniston can get on with her normal life. Sure, her normal life mainly revolves around batting away questions about Brad Pitt and if she's getting married to Vince Vaughn or not and if she's going to make more episodes of Friends while struggling manfully to promote The Break-Up around Europe.
Part of that involved an interview with British teatime gushers Richard and Judy, who seemed to have got quite a scoop out of Jennifer Aniston when she said that she wanted to make more episodes of Friends:
"I do at times miss it… The only thing I can think of doing is maybe, for fun, doing a Thanksgiving episode. Our Thanksgiving episodes were really fun."
So – far from admitting that new Friends episodes are being made, Jennifer Aniston said she only sort of misses it and can only think of one possible scenario that she'd actually consider. Add to that the mumbled "I think we should leave it as it is," that Aniston ended her answer with and the whole thing kind of falls apart. But the Friends Thanksgiving reunion special claim is partially backed up by Courtney Cox, who told the New York Daily News:
"I think their story is continuing, even if we're not watching. I think they see each other every Thanksgiving."
Which isn't really an answer, either – and frankly, we're pretty pleased that if the story of the Friends characters is continuing, at least all that overwhelmingly slick smuggery is taking place behind closed doors for a change. But the statements by Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox are more fuel for the fire of the morons who want to see more Friends, even though it's on 12 sodding times a day anyway.
This is just the latest of the Friends reunion rumours. First there was going to be a Friends movie, but nothing came of that, and then there was going to be a handful of one-hour Friends specials, but that was shot down by NBC. So maybe nothing will ever tempt all six of the Friends stars back into their horrible waistcoats and badly-decorated apartments. Or maybe there is just one thing…
The Friends Matt LeBlanc Divorce Bill Special. Fingers crossed.
