You know Dirt; it's the Courteney Cox-produced, Courteney Cox-starring TV show about how people who work for celebrity magazines are more evil than Hitler – except for the photographers who are merely dangerously mentally ill.
We're told that Dirt is performing 'solidly' in America – which means that not very many people watch it but at least they don't watch it regularly – however, all that could change soon. It's been announced that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox's old buddy from Friends, has jumped onboard for a guest-spot on the Dirt season finale as an evil magazine editor who is Courteney Cox's evil magazine editor's rival. And if Jennifer Aniston's turn goes down well, who knows what other tricks Dirt will have up its sleeve in season two? Here's a guess – Lisa Kudrow guest-starring as a dippy, yet evil, magazine editor. Or, failing that, David Schwimmer as an especially evil magazine editor who is related to the Courteney Cox character, has a crush on the Jennifer Aniston character and likes dinosaurs. Hilariously.
Ever since Friends croaked its last breath in 2004, only to live on forever by being repeated 500 times a day on every TV channel ever, speculation has been rife about when a Friends reunion will happen. In the past there's been talk of a Friends movie and a bunch of Friends one-hour specials, but they've all been denied by NBC. Plus the Friends stars have just been too darn busy to get together. Matthew Perry is busy being smug on Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, while Lisa Kudrow saw her comeback show get the axe and Matt LeBlanc's probably too busy being divorced and stuff. Face it, a Friends reunion is almost an impossibility.
So here's the next-best thing. Courteney Cox is now the star of Dirt, the FX series that's just like Nip/Tuck except without the surgery or humour, and she's decided to rope in her former Friends co-star and inexplicable People's Choice Favourite Female Film Star Jennifer Aniston to guest star in the Dirt season finale, as Sky reports:
Jennifer will be joining Courteney on the season finale of the US TV show Dirt. She will play bitchy tabloid editor Tina Harrod, the arch nemesis to Courteney's Lucy Spiller – the ruthless editor-in-chief of the gossip mag DirtNow. Courteney told People magazine: "We're shooting this Thursday, I can't wait… We'll have a ball. We're just going to have fun."
Of course, roping in Jennifer Aniston to star in a show about celebrity magazines like Dirt is a masterstroke by Courteney Cox. It's hard to think of someone who has clogged up the pages of celebrity magazines more than Aniston in recent years. From her failed marriage to Brad Pitt to her failed relationship with Vince Vaughn, nothing that Jennifer Aniston does, says, thinks or shits ever escapes forensic examination from celebrity magazines – so much so that Jennifer Aniston's hatred of the "bull-eaters" that read those magazines is legendary. Having the chance to play a horrible version of a magazine's editor on Dirt was always going to appeal to Jennifer Aniston; much more so than giving her a role of a whiny pathetic movie star who can't make good films and can't keep a man and who often goes and screams at the sea. For instance.
Jennifer Aniston's guest-spot on Dirt will air in March in America. And, yes, we know that Jennifer Aniston vowed never to work in TV again eight months ago, but that was before The Break-Up and a girl must take whatever she can get.

Yes! This gives Aniston the chance to take her revenge on all those celebrity magazines that keep making her life a misery! That, um, I buy all the time. And have a subsciption to.
