Bird flu? Bird flu? If there’s one migratory disease that the world needs to fear, it’s sure isn’t bird flu. There’s a far greater threat to the world at the moment, and it goes by the name of James Blunt.
James Blunt has managed to become the first UK singer to have a single enter the US Billboard chart at number one for nine years. And the first UK singer to have a single enter the US Billboard chart at number one without singing a dodgy song about a dead princess for quite a bit longer.
James Blunt (CDs) – the Terrence And Phillip voiced, girl-haired,
whinging, miserable former soldier turned singer – has just seen
omnipotent earweapon You’re Beautiful enter the US Billboard singles
chart at number one. He’s the first British artist to achieve this
since 1997, when Elton John did that Princess Diana song and wiggled
his eyebrow around.
This means that James Blunt – with one song – has succeeded where
Oasis, Craig David, Robbie Williams and countless other British bands
have failed. It’s also expected that reaching number one will help
boost American sales of his Back To Bedlam album before, like
everywhere else, people realise that it’s most rubbish and just put
You’re Beautiful on their iPods.
Peter Jamieson of the BPI is crowing about the international success of James Blunt to anyone who’ll listen:
"The current strength of UK repertoire and
the state of the US market presents us with probably the best
opportunity we have had in a decade. That’s why the UK music industry is putting so much effort into US

Almost six weeks ago i had bought his album and still listen to it every single day. He’s amazing…and the jealousy surrounding his success has been quite hilarious!
James Blunt has such a screechy voice because during his army days he would just sit around and write stupid songs and strum on his guitar, resulting in a steel-capped booting from one of his fellow soldiers, shattering both his testicles
I think that James Blunt is a great singer and hes just what america is looking for in that kind of pop rock kind of way the us is looking for hes although i have only heard his song “your beautiful” i kno he is a great addition to the us i know i and many of my friends will be lookng forward into hearing alot more songs from this talented artist!!!

Has the world gone completely bloody mad or have I lost the plot? How the hell can someone who is, apparently, a decendant of a bastard born to Henry the eight, and sings songs to commit suicide to be No1…. anywhere!!!, I just don’t get it. I bet Mr Blunt won’t compose a tune that gets played in five hundred years time, or if he does I thank God I won’t be around to hear it.
I bought the CD Back to Bedlam and have played it over and over again from that moment on. I never get tired of it and never thought I could fall in love again, but when I heard his voice and saw his face, I knew what he meant when he said I saw an angel of that I’am sure. He is beautiful, and it is true. Best of luck to him in his success and future. James, if you get to ever read this, I want you to know that I have a place for you in my heart. Much success!!!!!
