So here's some good news and some bad news: James Blunt was in a car accident last week, but he managed to escape without having his throat so badly smashed up that he had to quit music forever – which part is the good news is up to you.

In actual fact James Blunt managed to escape the car accident without any injuries whatsoever, which is more than we can say for the poor bloke who claims he had his foot crushed by James Blunt's car. James Blunt is now under investigation by the LAPD, which is classing the incident as a 'hit and run'. Still, given the choice of having a two-ton SUV driven over your foot or hearing James Blunt sing even one note of any of his terrible songs, we know which one we'd chose.

James Blunt has been keeping quiet lately – but then you'd keep quiet too if an entire county banned you for being annoying – although that isn't to say that the lank-haired, girly-voiced "I'm a soldier, me" git hasn't been doing anything at all. Maybe James Blunt has been busy tending to goats on that mountain he said he'd buy. Or maybe James Blunt has been trying to impress his supermodel girlfriend by telling her how he was number one in America once. Chances are, though, that James Blunt was merely spending his down-time learning how to run over people's feet and then blame the paparazzi for it.

James Blunt – a man who Paul Weller would rather eat his own shit than duet with – is in trouble with the police after allegedly running over a man's foot outside an Oscar party on Friday night and then driving off like the hard bastard posho former soldier that he is, as Sky reports:

James Blunt is reported to be under investigation in Los Angeles over an incident following an Oscars party. He is said to have run over a man's foot as he drove off… Police are classing the incident as a "hit and run". Blunt's representatives claim paparazzi swarmed around him as he was trying to get away. They are quoted as saying: "They were invading his space. He was just trying to quietly leave the party."

James Blunt is apparently willing to fully co-operate with the police over the incident, so – and this bit is directly addressed to members of the LAPD – there's an envelope full of cash if you can somehow sneak the line "never sing again" into James Blunt's punishment. And another one if you can somehow implicate KT Tunstall into all of this as well.
