Digg this!

Hell’s Kitchen betting odds barry mcguigan Brian DowlingIt's been quite a week in Hell's Kitchen; there have been walk-outs, vote-offs and – perhaps the most shockingly of all – the introduction of a new Hell's Kitchen menu that inexplicably contains food that we'd like to eat.

Out have gone the blowtorched pig trotters and foie gras and in has come partridge pie and treacle tarte. But it doesn't really matter what food gets cooked on Hell's Kitchen – it's not like we're ever going to taste any of it – because Hell's Kitchen is all about combustible celebrities being put under incredible pressure. No, wait, sorry, that's what Hell's Kitchen is supposed to be about; in reality it's actually about some people we half recognise off the telly mashing some potatoes. But not Anneka Rice, who left Hell's Kitchen last night after spending close to a fortnight pleading with the public to vote her out. Oh well, place a Hell's Kitchen bet anyway, would you? It finishes on Monday, you see.

Here are the Hell's Kitchen betting odds for Brian Dowling and Barry McGuigan, with help from Paddy Power

Brian Dowling – Brian Dowling is just one of those people you can't help but like, isn't he? All glee and bounce and zest, Brian Dowling is using exactly the same means to win Hell's Kitchen as he did with Big Brother. However, that was before Jim Davidson piddled on Brian Dowling's strawberries. Although Jim Davidson was not right to demean Brian's sexuality on Hell's Kitchen this week in the way that he did, Brian's breathlessly over-the-top sobbing tantrum didn't exactly win him a lot of friends, either. Working in a kitchen is all about aggression – even though it basically involves cooking eggs for people – and not about gasping "You're, snort, the most, snort, rude, snort snort, person, snort, I've ever met" when a famed homophobe says something that you know has been coming for over a week. Current Hell's Kitchen betting odds – 2/1

Barry McGuigan – Cooking to top restaurant standards is all about subtlety and delicate alterations, which makes it all the more remarkable that Barry McGuigan – a man who once indirectly punched a man to death – is the current favourite to win Hell's Kitchen. In the kitchen Barry McGuigan has shown that he's capable of mashing a potato like a demon, and outside of the kitchen his clear head and obvious common sense has gently put out several Hell's Kitchen fires before they've even started. Everything points to Barry McGuigan winning Hell's Kitchen but, because he hasn't had a sobbing breakdown yet, Barry will need to work extra hard to bring the more stupid members of the audience around. Current Hell's Kitchen betting odds – 6/5
