So, the second season of Stranger Things came out back in October and this season we got some great new characters, got a lot of fantastic team work across the board, and really got to see the gang engage in some in depth growth. None more interesting than that of Steve Harrington.
Steve was the rich, popular high school douche with a heart of gold in season one, and season two saw him become the babysitter hero we didn’t know we needed. Seriously. It was the season of Steve.
The last half of season two of Stranger Things was basically the movie Adventures in Babysitting if that movie had been a little more supernatural and only slightly less comedy. In this rendition, Joe Kerry who plays Steve Harrington takes on Elizabeth Shue’s classic role.
Aside from being a top notch babysitter, he also proved to be a total sweetheart of an ex-boyfriend and one half of the amazing Dustin and Steve duo that I didn’t know I needed in my life (BUT I DO!)
Of course, Steve and his man Farrah Fawcett hair weren’t the only great things about season 2. Billy was the psycho hunk I didn’t know I wanted added to the story, but fingers crossed some weird shit goes down between him and Nancy’s mom in season 3, am I right?
And the Max/Lucas and Mike/Eleven romantic match-ups were just adorable. Also, Sean Astin was a precious Goonies reference and Hopper kicked serious ass in his dad role this season. I also fucking loved watching everyone work together, whereas last year I also put myself into a stress induced coma waiting for everyone to realize they all knew different parts of the same story. I was more stressed out than Joyce!
But yes, I feel like the true star of season two is Steve Harrington, and that’s definitely something we can appreciate about 2017.
