This year saw a major turning of the tide in Hollywood, with major Hollywood players like Harvey Weinstein, Les Moonves, Bill Cosby, and Kevin Spacey being taken down for being gross perverts.
The year started off with women wearing black in solidarity at the Golden Globes, and the movement has had little slow down since.
In the past year and a half, we’ve seen extremely powerful men being held accountable for their garbage actions, and it’s been a bit of a beautiful thing.
Female celebrities have been more open than ever about their negative sexual experiences in the work force (and life in general), and it feels like people are actually starting to listen and some justice is being served.
Aside from the poster boy of this shit, Harvey Weinstein, men like Kevin Spacey, who I used to fucking love, Les Moonves, Jeffrey Tambour, and Matt Lauer have all been ousted from their jobs due to sexual misconduct.
I mean, for every big win, there’s a million accusations that go without any consequences, but at least we’re seeing conversations being had about consent and believing women and all that important stuff that needs to be talked about.
Also, how do I become best friends forever with Ronan Farrow? Seriously. He’s like the perfect man, right?
I mean, he’s a handsome rich genius whose mom is Mia fucking Farrow and dad is probably Frank Sinatra. He started university when he was like 13, he’s published some books, and now makes his living exposing shitty men who do crappy things to women. The guy is like some kind of fucking saint.
It’s really too bad he’s gay (he’s gay, right?), because he’s basically every woman’s dream guy. I fucking love Ronan Farrow. I mean, I’m getting kind of off track, but he’s been a pretty key player in this movement, so, you know, whatever.
