Wannabe-cockney public schoolboy Guy Ritchie and his scary-faced wife Madonna have been booed by ‘fans’ at the London premiere of Ritchie’s new movie Revolver.

Revolver - apparently a cinematic production so bad it makes 2 Fast 2 Furious look like Dekalog-era Kieslowski - has already had its fair share of dismal reviews. Witness the verbal face-slapping given by The Guardian:

"After Revolver, Swept Away now looks like Citizen Kane. Words cannot express how emphatically this film withholds the pleasures of film-going."

What with the big question already engraved onto the public consciousness - how the hell does this talentless cine-hack keep getting work? - you’d think that Mr. Ritchie and his dimwit missus would be pulling out all the stops to gain their fair share of public sympathy.

Or maybe not.

While leading man Jason Statham (DVDs) - not so much as actor, more a pit-bull-sneer-for-hire - stopped to scribble autographs for the assembled ranks, Ritchie and Madonna simply waltzed into the cinema with nary a glance to the fans behind the barricades.

Cue the booing.

hecklerspray was almost in two minds about this - surely anyone waiting for hours on end to get to see either Guy or Madge deserves everything they get? But then we remembered that they were shouting abuse at the hapless couple, so we let sleeping dogs lie.

"This is fun for me," Madonna burbled. "I get to dress up and show up."

"The critics have been harsh all the way through my career," Ritchie said, springing into auto-defence mode. "It doesn’t affect me."

No, Guy. Just the ticket sales.

    Uhm,

“To become smarter you must play smarter opponents.” Well Guy needs to do just this… His usual films, Snatch and Lock stock and such? Good movies… plain, blunt London/English humour and gangsters to boot…. Revolver… He was trying to make a thinking film… And all I was thinking, was this is a bunch of b*llocks… Very disappointed with the film and a total waste of money, took it back to Tesco’s and got a full refund. This isn’t a clever film, it’s stupid, sloppy and messy. This isn’t even a funny film… I think I only smirked once… That’s when the main character shoots some guy in the foot… Well yeah that’s it…. Don’t wish to ruin it for anyone… (if that is even possible to do.) Heh… but it is too predictable… “oh I can’t even begin to imagine who the two loan sharks are…. 0o0o0o I wonder… Please.”
