Google Idol – Be Simon Cowell Right Now
Shows like Pop Idol and X Factor and American Idol are OK, but they’re a bit old-fashioned. Sitting in front of a TV and paying to vote? Bleugh. And don’t even think about entering the competitions.
The future to American Idol is here, and it looks like Google Idol. Google Idol is a sort of online talent show, and Google Idol is also ridiculously entertaining. The idea behind Google Idol is a simple one – people lip-synch to popular hits of the day into a webcam, bung it on Google Video and then send it to Google Idol, where all manner of people can vote on it.
Having seen some of the entries on Google Idol, we’ve been impressed, amused, intrigued. And scared. Very, very scared. If you’re one of the people with a video on Google Idol, let us know. We’ve never met a famous person before. Except for Dr Fox, but he really doesn’t count at all.

The girls are great but those Backstreet guys are so cute. I love the one slightly behind the other, he has a real Jim Carrey (SP?) thing going on. So much expression on that one! And how can that guy behind them be so engrossed while this is going on. I can’t believe the gentlemen have not gotten more of the vote
