Hey, you! You thought that Mel Gibson’s troubles had climaxed with that old anti-Semitic rant of his, didn’t you?

Not a chance, buddy. At least you could attribute Mel Gibson’s line about the Jews being responsible for all the wars in the world to a spectacular misreading of history, and at least by calling a female officer ‘Sugartits’ he was able to take the edge off his remarks with some charmingly old-fashioned sexism.

But now? Now Mel Gibson might have just entered the big league. Reports have emerged of a taped argument between Gibson and his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva where at one point Mel Gibson allegedly screams “You look like a fucking pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of niggers, it will be your fault.” Oh Mel, we’ve missed you. You complete arsehole.

It was all looking so good for Mel Gibson for a moment there, wasn’t it? Yes, there was the whole ‘driving while swigging from a bottle of tequila’ thing and the whole ‘alienating Hollywood’s entire Jewish community‘ thing, but that was all in the past. Since then, Mel Gibson has apologised relentlessly, rebuilt his career and fathered a child with beautiful new girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. Not even calling a man an ‘asshole’ on live TV could dent Mel Gibson’s new-found confidence. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, apart from the fact that the relationship broke up amidst accusations of an affair with a Polish porn star, or that they’ve both taken restraining orders out against each other following claims that Mel Gibson punched Oksana Grigorieva in the face and knocked out two of her teeth. Apart from that, what could possibly go wrong?

What’s that? There’s reportedly a tape of Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva fighting? Hang on, it contains WHAT? Radaronline reports:

“You’re an embarrassment to me,” Mel tells her. “You look like a f***ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault.” Mel’s outbursts are littered with references to Oksana being a “whore” and “c**t”. Mel tells Oksana: “How dare you act like such a bitch when I have been so f**king nice… I am going to come and burn the f**king house down… but you will blow me first.”

Now, if this tape is real, we’re going to go out on a limb and suggest that Mel Gibson will never manage to be this massively offensive again. This has to be the upper limit of his twatishness. It has to be. Blazing misogyny, genuinely uncomfortable racism, explicit threats of violence – it’s completely beyond the realms of possibility that Mel Gibson will ever be able to say anything as bad as this.

Then again, we said that in 2006. So let’s all look forward to the summer of 2014, when Mel Gibson will say something so offensive that people will actually lapse into unconsciousness when they hear it. We can’t wait.
