Once George Michael said he was never going to dance again because "guilty feet have got no rhythm." Now though, George Michael isn't going to dance again because he's all druggy and asleep in his car. Again.
According to reports, George Michael was arrested and cautioned on Sunday after being found slumped over the wheel of his car in London with a bunch of cannabis apparently in his possession. Just like the last time George Michael was found slumped over the wheel of his car in London with a bunch of cannabis apparently in his possession. Perhaps we're all rushing to conclusions here, though – there's a chance that George Michael didn't fall asleep in his car because of all the drugs, and that he was merely attempting to drive his car while listening to any George Michael solo album.
Forget Pete Doherty; if you're looking for the modern face of rebellious music in 2006, George Michael is where it's at – although with less squirting dirty blood everywhere and more dozing off in cars all the time. George Michael has been arrested yet again for falling asleep at the wheel of his car with some drugs on him.
George Michael and cars don't seem to be the best mix, and only a slightly better mix than George Michael and LA toilet penis waggling. Back in February there was the first George Michael druggy car sleeping arrest when he was found passed out in his car central London, and that was followed swiftly by George Michael apparently crashing into a load of parked cars. But now George Michael is back doing what he does best – falling asleep in his car with drugs in his pocket, as BBC News reports:
The 43-year-old star was arrested on Sunday after motorists called police to report a car causing an obstruction at traffic lights in Cricklewood. Police confirmed the driver was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive and drug possession. He was later cautioned and released on police bail pending further inquiries on his fitness to drive. Police said an ambulance was called and Mr Michael was taken to a west London hospital as a "precautionary measure" after he was arrested.
It'll be interesting to see how George Michael responds to this latest drugs car sleeping arrest. Last time, of course, George Michael admitted that everything was his own stupid fault as usual – but that's not the only way that George Michael can react to negative stories about him in the media. Back when George Michael was found fumbling around with a stranger in a bush in a park – after a period of phoning up daytime TV shows and saying how much he loved gay cruising – George Michael lost his shit completely and threatened to sue "everyone." Either way, George Michael's public response to this latest arrest is bound to be far more entertaining than any music he's ever released – even if he's just filmed standing still and listlessly clearing his throat for eight solid hours.
But we're missing the bigger picture here. Sure, George Michael probably thinks he's in control of his addiction, but soon he'll find himself moving on to something more serious. Falling asleep at the wheel of his car might seem recreational enough, but where will it end? Falling asleep in a tractor? A submarine? Before we know it, George Michael will be habitually dropping off halfway through transatlantic charter flights, trust us.
