Warning: Game of Thrones spoilers ahead (OBV). So here’s the thing: For years I was pretty ant-GoT, but then I had a baby and me and my husband weren’t leaving the house and he started binge watching it so I joined in. I didn’t overly give a shit about the show even while watching it and I mostly stuck it out to see that cunt rag, Joffrey, die (spoiler: he dies and it’s awesome).
GoT is known for killing off major characters all the fucking time because it gives zero shits about you and your feelings, but this Sunday on it’s season finale it may have gone too far by killing fan favorite, sulky hero, and all around prince of always looking like he’s on the verge of tears: Jon Snow.
When GoT killed off Jon’s dad, Ned Stark, people were like WTF? Sean Bean is like the biggest actor on this damn show! I THOUGHT HE WAS THE STAR??? But then people kind of got over it. But then they killed off Jon’s brother and his pregnant wife and people were like ARE YOU SERIOUS?! WHY DO YOU HATE ME GAME OF THRONES?? But then people slowly moved on. But Jon Snow?? Jon fucking Snow? I. Just. Can’t.
Imma go ahead and assume some voodoo shit is going to happen next season to bring him back, because killing Jon, Dany, or Tyrion is straight up dumb as fuck (strictly in my opinion, of course) and would make the series way less interesting and I just hate when good things go bad. I mean, remember back when Halle Berry was really talented and made great movies before she decided to star on stupid failing tv shows about aliens?! You don’t? Well, I guess The Flinstones movie WAS like 20 years ago.
Anyway, enough about that one enjoyable movie that Halle Berry ever made. The point is, I’m sick of Game of Thrones doing me dirty. There are constant tittays on this show, yet very few hunks, so killing off the main, broody hunk is absolutely unforgivable.
You better have some tricks up your sleeve, GoT, because this is some BULLSHIT.

The series is supposed to be a civil war in an alternate universe. In civil wars, leaders often die. And often the people are simply left with whoever survives not with who is best for them or their cause in the end. We dont know the end yet as GRRM is not finished writing it yet (stupid slow idiot one book every five to ten years bullshit) however I believe he is trying to make it “realistic” if you can believe it. Dany has serious problems and rebellion in the places she takes over n cant even cross the narrow sea to come to the main land to get to fight for the Iron Throne so far. I am pulling for her but my hopes are low.
GRRM has a talent: he makes you love characters and then he takes them away, the way it used to happen during the dark ages for example. Hell some are killed by magic, white walkers, the King across the wall crosses the wall theres a spoiler for you! And the black cloaks take care of his people. Make a treaty so they can fight the coming winter monsters because what comes after the white walkers is so much worse.
There are so many characters yet to appear. Yet to die. Yet to become amazing and for you to discover. Dont give up hope yet, there is more to come than you can imagine. Read the books if you dont believe me.

ok, you’m be pretty confused in a heap of ways.
1. “GRRM has a talent: he makes you love characters and then he takes them away, the way it used to happen during the dark ages for example.”
Game of Thrones is a TV show, based on a bunch of books. The dark ages is not a TV show or a book. It’s a simplistic and largely disused name for a bit of European history. People still die in civil wars, btw, even though they’re not happening im’Merica. Check out Syria, yo.
2. “In civil wars, leaders often die. And often the people are simply left with whoever survives not with who is best for them or their cause in the end.”
two sentences.
grrm might disagree with the first in the context of his story. his whole awesome beef with jrrt includes the small folk getting it in the ass while the big’uns are ransomed and sent home. but I guess if you’re comparing it to the wars of the roses, as war got more pro, more brass got killed in battle or executed. anyways, who is jon sno leading in the civil war? what’s the watch swear?
i might disgaree with the second sentence if it meant anything. does everyone always want the same thing in a civil war? is the first leader naturally ‘best for them’. if s/he dies, how the hell will you work out who was better anyway without some counterfactual parlour-game guesswork wh 2nd sentence. the amount o’ counterfactual guesswork involved in boiling this one down to the truth in a headfuck.
but, fundamentally, I disagree with christa and agree with you. GoT is good tv and asoiaf are good books BECAUASE they kill off characters. every fight scene is played for keeps. it’s not the endlessly focus-grouped, milk-blooded bollocks that most tv is where, as long as you can grind your brain down to what the lowest-common-denominator would want to happen, you can predict what will happen.
chrysta , if you don’t like shows where characters die, watch the Disney chnnel
